This one is a Viii-r, so very near the top. You can see it if look carefully at the last photo. The only damage worth mentioning is a scratch in top caused by e string tuner.
It has a beautiful oil varnish with delicate antiquing. The back measures 361mm. There is no bow included.
It does not go through the varnish, and could be easily made to disappear completely by a competent repair person.
It is completely free of cracks, and show only minimal wear despite being close to 100 years old. Roth made a wide array of qualities, with x-9 being the highest. Offered for sale is a gorgeous Ernst Heinrich Roth 4 violin made in it has huge sound, focused but not shrill at all.
