Details:

This crack runs the length of the top, through the sound post area. The work is solid, but not world class as the crack is visible, and does not have the typical inlaid post area patch.

It bears the Roth brand stamp on the inside of the back. It plays with the strong, even tone and excellent response which one would expect of a good violin. This violin has suffered a top crack, which has been repaired and is solid.

In spite of this damage, it is a solid, wonderful player's violin. This is a reproduction of a 1718 stradivari design and features a choice spruce top and beautiful one piece back of well figured maple with matching flamed ribs and scroll.

Violin is fitted with new vision strings. It is possible to restore the crack such that it is less visible, and to inlay a proper sound post area crack.

It has been reinforced with well made cleats on the inside, and these are inlaid close to the sound post area. It is in top playing condition and should give years of beautiful music in its present state.

There is also a small crack near the saddle. Violins such as this sell for well over 10,000 when in pristine condition. However, it is also a good candidate for complete restoration.
