The violin is a slightly smaller size, with back length inches of 349, about 1/4 inch or 7mm than standard full size. This is a real offer. Many would call this size a woman's violin as it is ideal for person with smaller hands.

I found this violin easy to play and very quick responsive yet forgiving. While the overall impression when first played is light and quite delicate under ear, sound projects very well. The violin does not come with a case or bow.

However, it is much larger than a 3/4 size and also bit large for 7 8ths. The tone of this violin is bright, even across strings, and responsive. This is a very nice, hand made violin of excellent construction and high quality wood craftsmanship. The string height have been checked and are correct as is fingerboard projection.

The back measures inches or 349mm. Riechers is said to have made over 2000 violins in his career. There are no cracks nor any crack repairs.

The violin is particularly easy to play for a person with smaller hands who uncomfortable stretching on an instrument that larger. The sound is open and clean, airy light, smooth clear.

The violin has been expertly set up with a custom carved bridge, new well-fitted pegs, properly fitted sound post, excellent ebony and rosewood fittings, fresh Thomistic strings, quality tailpiece. While it isn't overpowering or a penetrating solo instrument, does provide nice, pure and clear singing sound with plenty of brilliance at projection to cut nicely. This is a fine and attractive handmade violin, in an exceptional state of preservation. It is a very clean tone and remarkably even across the strings.
