Details:

I have never been disappointed by the tone of this viola it is very rich and warm. My impression is that this particular viola is slightly wider in the lower bout than most violas.

My Luther regularly carries Snow instruments due to their fine quality. The only reason I am willing to part with it is because I have too many violas and violins and must reduce my inventory. They don't seem to show in the photos, so I wanted to mention them. Violas need to have somewhat a bright tone or they just sound muddy, in my opinion.

I am not an expert on violas or violins, but this viola has been a complete joy to play. In other words, this instrument is ever so slightly wider than the typical 16.

I am not an expert on stringed instruments, but do have years of experience as a player. 5 viola and maybe that is the reason for its deep, resonant tone. I bought it brand new from my local Luther in they are the softest string instrument, especially in an orchestral setting so having a bright tone is important.

Wonderful inches Snow brand viola, built in I play in an amateur orchestra here in Chicago and this viola is one of my favorites. The case is well used but is wood en and very sturdy should last several more years. Viola does have at least 2 nicks in the varnish from my personal use.

The reason I picked it out is because it has a very bright tone and reminds me of the tone on a cello.
