The violin has a powerful, resonant sound and projects very well in large auditoriums. This is a beautiful antique 4 violin. I can see an old label inside: Rudolf Heckel, dresden it is in ready to play condition. It has a two piece flamed maple back, and medium grain spruce top.

The only repair I could see is, where neck connects to button. Body length 14, width the workmanship is excellent throughout. It feels like a new instrument, though is over 130 years old. It is completely solid.

This is a quality instrument, cut above, compared to some of the intermediate advanced instruments sold today by Eastman strings, Samuel sheen, killing, resold, etc.
