It's red with silver sparkles, that don't show up real well in the photos and in any case strike me as unusual for a Barcus Berry, but I actually get the most compliment for appearance on this of all my fiddles. It has a simple made in romania sticker inside. I have gigged with it, I just crank the bass a bit on my amp, or ask the sound man to do the same on the mixing board.
Violin outfitted with Barcus Berry Electronics in the usual configuration for their violins, but i'm not sure of the origin. Backpack able case is in great condition, other than a couple of smudges and my name is written in silver marker on the flap. Comes with a black carbon fiber or fiberglass bow from the string, missing a few hairs but still in good playing condition. Sounds a bit thin acoustically compared to my other Barcus Berry, and has some chips in the finish but it's set up to play really nice, with a fairly deep curve in the top of the bridge that I really like.
Might have been a BB prototype, or somebody's project of turning a cheap fiddle into an electric.
