At this price it cannot be a try and buy. I have broken everything down, refitting the pegs, cleaning it thoroughly, checking fit of sound post and french Albert bridge, over. Most of them, while having flashy ads, are not playable when they arrive, needing a complete setup in order to be usable. Please know what you're looking for.
The violin has a two piece back of fairly plain maple with scroll and sides similar wood. I take great pride in the violin sell and it shows. These instruments were some of the best I ever sold, as they sound good and hold up well over time.
I am now selling off some things i've collected over the years. The top is of two pieces medium grain spruce, and whole covered with a reddish-brown oil varnish which fully intact.
Its a mistake i've seen repeatedly over the years. The strings fitted are new.
If you're after the cheapest violin possible, buy one of those, but you might as well not have your child play at all. There is no bow or case.
I purchased the instrument wholesale from them in 2005 and sold it, recently taking it back on trade. The condition is excellent, with only some incidental wear, mostly on top.
The instrument, in spite of being 12 years old, looks new.
